Total: 4.5/5The Ecolution Evolve pan is an eco-friendly fry pan that uses a water based solvent instead of a chemical based one to make the coating process more environmentally PTFE Coating friendly. The 11 Fry pan from Ecolution comes in red, bronze and black as well as a variety of sizes and styles for a decent price.
The Evolve fry pan is a medium thickness aluminum pan that uses the unique coating to edge itself above the rest of the non-stick coated pans. The pan works well and like many others uses its non-stick coating to easily cook foods that don't stick to the fry pan.
The Evolve fry pan has a large handle covered with silicone to make a good cool handle when used on the stovetop but does heat up when the pan is used in the oven. The fry pan can be used to heat foods on a gas or electric stove top as well as in an oven.
The Ecolution Evolve can take heat up to 350 degrees in the oven which is a good temperature for finish cooking of meats. I have used the pan extensively to cook meats, vegetables and other foods on a daily basis and have enjoyed using the pan.
The non-stick coating works well and the bottom distributes Teflon Coatings heat evenly using the textured bottom pattern to help heat move along the bottom of the pan. The Evolve fry pan is a nice non-stick pan and works well for daily cooking but also requires some special cleaning.
The non-stick coating requires no oil for cooking and even should not be used as oil will polymerize and create a sticky coating on the nonstick surface. Cleaning a non-stick pan with water and a little baking soda will remove oils and get rid of any burnt on residue from cooking.
The eleven inch size of the Evolve pan does mean you may have to do a little searching to find a lid to fit it if you want one. Many stores carry lids but common sizes of twelve inches are more the norm so you may need to buy a lid online for the 11 inch fry pan.
I have been using the fry pan for several months and have been very happy with the results and the pan for cooking.
I highly recommend the Ecolution Evolve Non-stick Fry Pan as a great daily use pan that costs about $25.
