Buying cookware can be a nightmare with so many chefs recommending their own line of pots and pansbut even the familiar store setting can be intimidating. When you’re not sure what to get one place many people turn to is users themselves so here is my review of the WearEver Pure Living Ceramic Cookware.Teflon Coatings
The new Pure Living line of cookware by WearEver has an aluminum core with an outer coating that is easy to clean, I’m not sure what the outer coating is though. The inner surface is coated with a ceramic nonstick material that shows as a pure white inside and is very nonstick.
Each pan has a nice aluminum edge and bottom with handles riveted on to the base and a silicone handle that provides a comfortable and safe grip when using on the stove. You do have to be careful as the silicone will heat up in the oven so when taking any of the Pure Living cookware out of the oven mitts of some kind are required.
The Pure Living cookware is both stove top and oven safe up to 750 degrees so the high broil setting is no worry for the ceramic coating or the silicone handles. The bottoms of all the pans are textured with both a circular ridge pattern and the classic WearEver W logo’s to create more surface area on the bottom of the pan to increase the speed of preheating.
The thick aluminum adds to heat retention while cookingand the pans work well for everyday coking in the home for both general foods and those special occasions. I have been using the WearEver 10 piece set I received almost every day and can attest to their durability and clean up ease.
The nonstick coating really works well for eggs and meats cooked with or without oil and the cleanup of even the worst burnt on mess is easy. You will not have to presoak these pans in water to get rid of burnt on foods and cleanup is a breeze without having to put the pans into the dishwasher but they are dishwasher safe.
I tried to overcook an egg and cheese in the 8 inch sauté pan and it cleaned right up with a quick swish of water and a dishrag which I will have a video of on my website. Ceramic Coating The WearEver pans and lids are dishwasher safe but I really think you can just skip that part most of the time and save room for the things that really need the help of a machine to clean them.
I tried the Consumer reports method of testing cookware by using a dollop of oil in the pan and then cooking four eggs one after the other without adding more oil. After a few times trying this to get a good video I decided to quit and just use the one video tape I did before of just frying the one egg and showing the cleanup.
The four eggs came out well and the fourth egg slid around in the pan with as much ease as the first so the pans work well as a nonstick cookware set. I did a lot of cooking in a short time and tried to use the pans every day since I got them cooking a variety of foods like hamburgers, fish, sausage, eggs, pancakes and even straight cheese.
The pans are first and foremost very nonstick and food even when cooked slightly beyond done does not stick to the pan, even the little bits. I tried burning a few things after cooking like the leftover bits of egg when I cooked eggs and the egg simply wiped off the sides and bottom.
Cooking with foods like pancakes is great as you don’t need to use much spray or oil and a little dab of butter works just as well for tasty and light pancakes with that touch of butter. I tried a recipe of toffee and after pouring out the butter and sugar mixture I burnt the rest and it only succeeded in burning the sugar and leaving pools of oil with dark bits floating in them.
This was kind of interesting but cleanup was the real test and after a bit of cooling then a simple rinse and swish with a dishrag the pot was as clean as ever. Cleanup with the WearEver Pure Living Ceramic Cookware is probably the best feature after your favorite recipes of course and it is a nice treat not to have to soak pans.
The 10 piece Pure Living set comes with an 8 and 10.5 inch sauté pan, a 3 quart covered sauce pan, a 3.5 quart covered skillet and a 5 quart covered Dutch oven along with a plastic spatula and spoon. Teflon Coatings The lids for two of the pans also fit the sauté pans so all the pans can be used with one of the glass covers that has a central silicone handle.
The glass lids have a vent hole in the top and are riveted onto the glass with a steel rim around the edge of the lid the fits into the pans. The glass covers are also heat proof and can be used in the oven so you can cook on the stove top or in an oven for both gas and electric cooking.
The WearEver line of cookware comes in a red and champagne color and for the ten piece set costs about $95 but smaller sets and individual pieces are also available online. I highly recommend the Pure Living Ceramic Coated Cookware which adds durability and easy cleanup to the nonstick coating beyond what conventional Teflon does.

The History of Spacesuits - History of Spacewalking

See More Aboutspacesuitairplanerocketnasajet(Continued from Page 1)Walking on the Moon's surface a quarter million miles away from Earth presented a new set of problems to spacesuit designers. Not only did the Moon explorers' spacesuits have to offer protection from jagged rocks and the searing heat of the lunar day, but the suits also had to be flexible enough to permit stooping and bending as Apollocrewmen PTFE Coatings gathered samples from the Moon, set up scientific data stations at each landing site, and used the lunar rover vehicle, an electric-powered dune buggy, for transportation over the surface of the Moon. The additional hazard of micrometeoroids that constantly pelt the lunar surface from deep space was met with an outer protective layer on the Apollo spacesuit. A backpack portable life support system provided oxygen for breathing, suit pressurization, and ventilation for moonwalks lasting up to 7 hours. Apollo spacesuit mobility was improved over earlier suits by use of bellows-like molded rubber joints at the shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Modifications to the suit waist for Apollo 15 through 1 7 missions added flexibility making it easier for crewmen to sit on the lunar rover vehicle. From the skin out, the Apollo A7LB spacesuit began with an astronaut-worn liquid-cooling garment, similar to a pair of long johns with a network of spaghetti-like tubing sewn onto the fabric. Cool water, circulating through the tubing, transferred metabolic heat from the Moon explorer's body to the backpack and thence to space. Next came a comfort and donning improvement layer of lightweight nylon, followed by a gas-tight pressure bladder of Neoprene-coated nylonor bellows-like molded joints components, a nylon restraint layer to prevent the bladder from ballooning, a lightweight thermal super insulation of alternating layers of thin Kapton and glass-fiber cloth, several layers of Mylar and spacer material, and finally, protective outer layers of Teflon coated glass-fiber Beta cloth. Apollo space helmets were formed from New Non Stick Coating high strength polycarbonate and were attached to the spacesuit by a pressure-sealing neck ring. Unlike Mercury and Gemini helmets, which were closely fitted and moved with the crewman's head, the Apollo helmet was fixed and the head was free to move within. While walking on the Moon, Apollo crewmen wore an outer visor assembly over the polycarbonate helmet to shield against eye damaging ultraviolet radiation, and to maintain head and face thermal comfort. Completing the Moon explorer's ensemble were lunar gloves and boots, both designed for the rigors of exploring, and the gloves for adjusting sensitive instruments. The lunar surface gloves consisted of integral structural restraint and pressure bladders, molded from casts of the crewmen's hands, and covered by multi layered super insulation for thermal and abrasion protection. Thumb and fingertips were molded of silicone rubber to permit a degree of sensitivity and "feel." Pressure-sealing disconnects, similar to the helmet-to-suit connection, attached the gloves to the spacesuit arms. The lunar boot was actually an overshoe that the Apollo lunar explorer slipped on over the integral pressure boot of the spacesuit. The outer layer of the lunar boot was made from metal-woven fabric, except for the ribbed silicone rubber sole; the tongue area was made from Teflon-coatedglass-fiber cloth. PTFE Coated The boot inner layers were made from Teflon-coated glass-fiber cloth followed by 25 alternating layers of Kapton film and glass-fiber cloth to form an efficient, lightweight thermal insulation.

How to Clean a Fish Finder Screen

Fishfinders make a day of fishing more fun and productive. Fishfinders are an invaluable tool to the modern fisherman. In addition to showing the location of fish, a these devices can also provide information about the waters depth and temperature, among other things. Fishfinders do require some routine maintenance to keep them in top working order. Over time the screen can become foggy or blurry due to exposure to dirt, PTFE Coating oil and other contaminants. I have owned several different types of these devices over the years and have learned the hard way that you need to take special care when cleaning your fishfinder to prevent damage to the anti-reflective coating on the screen.
What You Need
Rag
Water
Lint-free cloth
Eyeglass cleaning solution
Steps
1) Use a rag to wipe away any dust, dirt and debris from the surface of the screen. Be careful not to scratch the screen.
2) Moisten a clean rag with fresh clean water. Wipe the screen with the wet rag and allow the screen time to dry.
3) Open a bottle of eyeglass cleaning solution. Apply the eyeglass cleaning solution to a lint-free cloth. Make sure that you use an eyeglass cleaning solution that is approved for use on a surface coated with anti-reflective material.
4) Apply the moistened lint-free cloth to the surface of the screen.Non Stick Coating Use a gentle motion to rub the cloth across the entire surface of the screen. Apply more eyeglass cleaning solution to the lint-free cloth, if necessary. Repeat this process until the screen is clean and free of any contaminants.
Caution
Do not use abrasive cleaning solutions or ammonia based cleaning products on a fishfinder screen. These types of cleaning solutions can damage the anti-reflective coating on the screen. Make sure that you only use an eyeglass cleaning that is approved for use on surfaces coated with an anti-reflective material.

PEEK Corrosion Resistant Coating

PEEK corrosion resistant coating (polyether etherketone), PEK (polyether ketone), and PAEK (polyaryl etherketone) are a family of partially crystalline engineering thermoplastics (plastic polymers) that can be used at high temperatures. These resins have excellent chemical resistance. Non Stick Coating Their high thermal stability comes from rigid ketone and phenyl groups, while their high strength and thermoplastic state below the decomposition temperatures come from the ether groups.

The PEEK corrosion resistant coating can have melting temperatures in excess of 650 degrees Fahrenheit, with mechanical properties retained to about 500 degrees Fahrenheit.

Tensile properties of the PEEK corrosion resistant coating are comparable to most engineering thermoplastics. Creep resistance is outstanding and may sustain large stresses over a useful service life without measurable strain.

Everlube Products Pioneer and Leader in Solid Film Lubricant Technology.
Wear rates and friction are becoming increasingly important against metals. And corrosion protection is often an integral part. For these reasons, the PEEK corrosion resistant coating (and related polymers) is becoming increasingly important, as demands for their structural performance grow, particularly at elevated temperature.

Wear factors of the PEEK corrosion resistant coating, including PEK or PAEK, appear much less affected by load and speed components, independent of PV. Wear performance seems to be better at low pressures and high speeds, rather than high pressures and intermediate speeds. PTFE Spray Coating All display excellent resistance to wear over wide ranges of pressure, velocity, temperature, and counterface roughness.

Properties of the PEEK corrosion resistant coating now include the lubricating and non stick characteristics of PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) but with much greater resistance to abrasion.

Every day Americans throw away 60 million plastic water bottles

Every day Americans throw away 60 million plastic water bottles. That's 21.9 billion every year, and that's just in the U.S. So what can you do? Buy a reusable water bottle and use it all the time. Coupled with a water filtration system, like Brita or Pur, you're reusable bottle will help conserve water while reducing the amount of plastic that ends up in landfills all over the country. It may seem a little expensive to get started but an added benefit to reusable water bottles is the cash you'll save on hydration. I used to spend at least $60 a month on water bottles and jugs of purified water. Now I spend $14 every six months for filter replacements on my Brita pitcher. Here's an overview of the different kinds of reusable water bottles available.Metal bottles PTFE Coatings
Gaiam, Klean Kanteen, Sigg, and Eco Canteen are some of the brands available if you're looking for a metal water bottle. They come in all sizes, colors and styles. They even have smaller versions for children. The real benefit of using metal is that polycarbonate bottles have been shown to leech possibly carcinogenic particles into your drinking water. The stainless steel or aluminum bottles are safer because the metal is non-leaching and usually treated with a water based coating to keep the water inside tasting fresh. The coating also keeps flavors from sticking once inside your reusable water bottle. I have both Gaiam and Klean Kanteen brand bottles and love them both. I like the slimmer design of my Gaiam bottle but found that the Klean Kanteen is less likely to be dented if dropped. Metal bottles aren't great at keeping beverages cold but most of the ones ive found have openings large enough for ice cubes to be used. The metal water bottles are 100% recycle but since they are virtually indestructible you won't need to. They range from $13-$35 in price.
Plastic water bottles
If you choose to go plastic you can find safe options. Check therecyclingsymbol on your bottle, if it is #2 HDPE (high density polyethylene), or a #4 LDPE (low density polyethylene), or a #5 PP (polypropylene), your bottle is fine. Most plastic bottles sold in stores are #1 and are only rated for one time use. Naglene is one brand that offers reusable plastic bottles featuring HDPE (#2) and LDPE (#4) plastic. The Naglene is made of hard rigid plastic and some people complain that it breaks when dropped from high places. The other brand of plastic bottle I found was the Soma crystal water bottle. Made of FDA approved non leaching plastic it is also flexible and harder to break. I didn't as many style or color options but the reusable plastic water bottles do come in a variety of sizes and Naglene offers a wide variety of non leaching plastic products. They range from $5-$15 in price.
Whether you're doing to save money or you want to do your part to reduce, reuse, and recycle; reusable water bottles are an easy way to do it. The countless designs offered on some of the bottles also make it easy to match your bottle with your personality, making it something you want to carry with you every day. Non Stick Coatings Small changes, like buying reusable water bottles, are just as important as big changes like finding alternative energy. Go green, one bottle at a time.

Nail care and nail art has earned an important part in the beatification program of modern women. Novel ideas are being practiced by stylish women to beautify nails in more attractive manner. Airbrushing of nails is another important tool to make beautiful nails that look nice and gorgeous. This classy know-how to decorate beautiful nail has been taken from the idea of airbrushing toys, garments and other commodities. The surface of the nail is taken as canvas for making the art work. You need to make very little arrangements to make airbrushing of your nails. Ceramic Coating Stencils, acetone, a coating for the base, variety of nail polishes, airbrushing a machine with complete accessories are needed to perform the work on nails.

To begin with the job, draw a design or picture, which you intend to draw on your nail surface. You can create your own design or can get hold of a design from the store in your locality. The next work is to prepare the nails so that the beautiful nail art remains there for a long time. Clean wash your hands and nails perfectly with a soap and brush the corner of the nails for any dirt in side. Remove the old nail polish or oily substance from the nail with the help of a nail polish remover or acetone. Non Stick Coating Spray Use a napkin to make them dry.
Start coating the nails with the base coat or while color on which the stencil would be made. The coating at this stage should be evenly made. Preparing the base coat is important because the stencil is placed over it. The airbrush gun is applied on the stencil with only one color at a time. Make successive work with the airbrush gun taking different colors as required by the design. After the removal of the stencil, clean other portions of the finger with the nail polish remover to find beautiful nails.

The finishing touch is given by a brush to apply the top-coating on the airbrushed nails. It has to be done with delicate brush strokes without hampering the design or the color of beautiful nails. Too much of stroking with the brush during the finishing stage may ruin the entire beatification process. PTFE Coatings It is just giving nice and subtle touches for top-coat before they get dried up. You can put the nails in front of a fan to get them dried faster.

You can do away with the finishing touches with brush strokes and apply to varnish on the airbrushed nails.
