Teflon is a trademark owned by Dupont for a chemical called polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE Coating PTFE). It is the chemical that is dangerous for parrots, not Teflon. This chemical can be found in a variety of different brands of nonstick cookware along with other products manufactured today. But newer types of nonstick coatings that are PTFE-free have been developed and are on the market.
